From 18 to 29 August, we had the joy of running our Cambodia Photo Workshop with five incredible photographers – each with their own story, style, and perspective. More than just a trip, this journey became a collaboration: Cambodia revealed itself through the lens of our guests, and together we built memories that go far beyond photographs.

This year, our group was as diverse as it was passionate:
- Cheng from Singapore, a returning guest after our Vietnam 2024 Photo Tour.
- Manuela from Switzerland, joining us for the very first time.
- Irina from the USA, back with us after her Siem Reap photo day tour last year.
- Simon, who previously traveled with us to Uzbekistan in 2025.
- Victor from Romania, also joining for the first time.
Each of them brought their unique vision to Cambodia – and through their images, we rediscovered the country’s rhythms, colours, and stories.
More Than Just Pictures
As Simon beautifully put it:
“Joining Regis on his photography workshop in Cambodia is much more than simply capturing images – it’s an immersion into the heart and spirit of the country. Centred in Siem Reap and its surroundings, this experience honours the resilience, integrity, and warmth of the Cambodian people, whose radiant smiles are as unforgettable as the temples and landscapes.”
Immersion in Cambodian Life
For Irina, like Simon, this trip wasn’t her first time in Cambodia, but it felt like an entirely new way of experiencing it:
“I’ve been to Cambodia before, but this trip with Regis Binard and Asia Travel Photography was transformative… Regis has a real gift for connecting with people – he lives in Siem Reap, knows so many locals, and makes it easy to step into their world.”

From photographing families picking lilies on the lake to a blacksmith at his forge, rice pickers, fishermen, net weavers, tarantula hunters, and even being welcomed backstage at the local circus, every day unfolded like a living story.
“The whole experience was real, immersive and personal – like being part of the story instead of just a visitor. I came home with not only great photos, but also a much deeper connection to Cambodian life.”
Variety, Depth, and Connection
For Victor, Cambodia had been a dream destination – and the workshop delivered more than he imagined:
“The tour is packed with opportunities and you will get to shoot a lot of variety in terms of landscapes, people and culture. With Regis’s deep understanding and friendship towards the Khmer people you get to delve in and photograph the daily activities of the people of Cambodia which is a unique and rewarding experience.”

“As a traveler who is fortunate enough to see a variety of places, I have to say that this trip has been my favourite so far- mainly due to the people you get to meet and photograph along the way. I will definitely revisit Cambodia in the future since I want to explore more of its beautiful culture and people. Highly recommend it!”

The Spirit of the Group
Every workshop is shaped not only by the country but also by the people who come together to explore it. Manuela captured that feeling perfectly:
“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Régis for introducing us to the beauty of Cambodia in such a special way. As a passionate and highly skilled professional photographer, he not only guided us to stunning locations, but also shared his knowledge and experience with great generosity and patience.”

“His positive energy, kindness, and enthusiasm created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the entire trip. Every day was inspiring, filled with learning, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Merci Régis!”

A Journey to Remember
From hands-on guidance in composition and creativity to authentic encounters in daily Cambodian life, this workshop was about more than photography. It was about connection, growth, and seeing differently.
As Simon reflected:
“It wasn’t just a trip – it’s a journey into the heart of Cambodia, one that was inspiring, deeply connecting, and will be forever remembered.”
Your Pictures, Your Story
This blog post is dedicated to YOU – our guests. The real story of our Cambodia Photo Workshop is not mine, but yours. The photographs you created are not just images; they are reflections of your vision, your emotions, and the way Cambodia touched you.
The article is illustrated with some of the shots captured by our participants. Each frame is a reminder that photography is more than technique – it is about seeing with intention, connecting with people, and carrying home stories that will last a lifetime.

And who knows – do like Cheng and start planning your 3rd photo workshop in Uzbekistan in 2026! Camels may be stubborn, but at least they hold still for photos.
